We created the ManageOne alliance because the current outsourced-services boom has IT solution providers collaborating at a break-neck pace to find new ways to restructure their services – with reoccurring revenue and long term client relationships the key appeal.
The new keywords that continue to be broadcasted in our industry have been leveraged-service-delivery, software-as-a-service, managed-service-provider (MSP), and recurring-revenue. The focus for solution providers has been the urgency and desire to jump from a product offering to a service-focus offering. However, only a limited number of firms have made the jump to an outsourced-services model. Even more so, only a few can truly deliver the increasing needs of hosted applications or real-time infrastructure while migrating away from time-and-materials services.
Transitioning to this new model has come with many painful challenges: the financial strain of changing to a model with high capital expenditure; the learning curve of estimating the true costs of the offering so that pricing is accurate and profitable; and changes in sales and engineering skills in which the client’s contact is now a trusted advisor.
These changes are both challenging and risky. But it has always been said that opportunities exist at times of great change. This paradigm-shift presents opportunities in our industry that create exponential gains for vision-oriented business leaders. Since phases or curves in the technology industry are short-lived, solution providers must move quickly and efficiently.
ManageOne focuses on professional services, emphasizing the importance of the trusted advisor along the line of the relationship model used in legal and accounting firms. ManageOne also focuses on the Total Outsourced Offering, which eclipses the MSP model. Although MSP may be a new buzzword, it is not the answer. The Total Outsourced Offering establishes the next curve and presents a pure service model.
